RV warranty

RV warranty plan

Month-to-month coverage for mechanical breakdowns on a motorhome or towable, covering the living systems that nothing else protects: the leveling jacks, the generator, the LP system, the appliances, the water system and the slide-outs. Quote it and enroll yourself online, with no sales call.

We place these through Arkay. It is a vehicle service contract, not an insurance policy, and it does not replace your RV insurance. Your RV policy pays for collision, theft, weather and liability. A service contract pays when something in the coach breaks on its own.

Who it is for

Owners past the factory coverage, where a slide-out motor or a generator rebuild would spoil a season.

  • Motorhomes on Class A, B and C chassis
  • Travel trailers, fifth wheels and toy haulers
  • Coaches with slide-outs, hydraulic leveling or a generator
  • Full-timers and anyone whose rig is the holiday
  • Owners who would rather pay a deductible than a surprise invoice at a strange dealer

Coverage levels

Two levels. The difference is the drivetrain.

Only the components listed in the level you choose are covered. Summaries only — the contract wording governs.

Coach Express

The living quarters and the systems that run them: suspension, brakes, hydraulic and electric leveling, power steps, the generator and power plant, interior and exterior chassis hardware, electrical, heating and cooling, the LP gas system, appliances, fresh and waste water, factory entertainment including up to four televisions to 60 inches, and slide-out rooms.

What to watchNo engine, transmission or drive axle. On a motorhome that you drive, that is the whole drivetrain left uncovered.

Motorized Elite

Everything a motorhome needs. Engine including turbo and diesel, engine cooling, transmission, drive axle, steering, suspension and brakes, plus heating and cooling, LP gas, fresh and waste water, fuel delivery, electrical, the generator and power plant, on-board modules and sensors, entertainment and navigation, chassis, appliances, slide-outs, leveling and power steps.

What to watchThe right level for a drivable motorhome. Coach Express suits a towable, where there is no drivetrain to cover in the first place.

Your deductible

You choose it at enrollment and it applies per visit to approved and authorized covered repairs. It does not apply to the rental or trip interruption benefits.

What to watchPer visit, not per part, so one shop trip that fixes several covered items carries one deductible.

Included

What comes with the RV plan

Both are reimbursements with their own annual caps, and your deductible does not apply to them. The RV limits are lower than the auto plan's — worth knowing if you have both.

Rental and alternative transport

Up to $35 a day, to a maximum of $175 in any 12-month period, while the RV is kept overnight for repair. A taxi, car service, rideshare, train or bus fare counts, not only a rental.

What to watchThe $175 is an annual ceiling, not per claim. You pay first, then send the paid receipt and the repair order within 45 days. It does not pay for shop scheduling or shop delays.

Trip interruption

Lodging and meals during downtime for a covered repair, up to $100 a day and $300 in any 12-month period.

What to watchAlso an annual ceiling. It ends on the day the repair is completed, and receipts must be in within 45 days.

The payout ceiling

Any one repair visit is capped at the RV's actual cash value, from the current NADA average trade-in value for your zip code.

What to watchEverything paid under the contract, claims and benefits together, is capped at actual cash value or $10,000, whichever is lower, in any 36-month period. On a big coach a single major repair can approach that.

Diagnostic time is paid when it leads to a covered repair, and necessary fluids are replaced alongside one. Roadside assistance is not one of the ancillary benefits written into this contract — ask us before you rely on it.

Before you enroll

The conditions that decide whether a claim gets paid

The RV maintenance obligations are stricter than a car's, and they are the ones most likely to catch an owner out.

Authorization before any work

No claim is paid for a repair started without prior authorization. Call (877) 225-1346 and get a claim number before the shop begins. Outside business hours you may proceed and be reimbursed in line with the contract's terms, but inside them, call first.

Winterizing is mandatory

You must winterize and de-winterize the RV. Left sitting, a coach takes damage even in a warm climate, and damage from that is not covered.

The annual maintenance list

At least annually: inspect and seal the roof, inspect and lubricate the axles and hubs, service the furnace, and service the water heater. On a motorhome, add inspecting and greasing the suspension. Keep dated receipts showing mileage, or the parts receipts if you do it yourself.

The first 45 days

Coverage is effective from day one, but a claim in the first 45 days triggers a mandatory third-party inspection that you pay for, to establish the fault was not pre-existing. Pre-existing conditions are never covered.

Report the claim within 45 days

Documentation has to reach the administrator within 45 days of the completed repair. Miss that window and the claim is excluded outright.

Cancelling

Cancel at least 48 hours before your next scheduled monthly payment. Cancel inside the 7-day trial period with no claim filed and no benefit used, and you get 100% of what you have paid back.

What it does not cover

Named up front

  • Routine maintenance, and any wear that has not produced an actual failure
  • Damage from a collision, theft, flood, fire, hail, lightning, freezing or vandalism, which is what your RV policy is for
  • Pre-existing conditions, under any circumstance
  • Failures caused by missed maintenance, misuse, abuse, improper towing, or a shop's own bad work
  • Repairs outside the United States and Canada
  • Commercial use, rental use, racing and principally off-road use. Rideshare driving falls inside the commercial use definition on this contract
  • The structure and the finish: roofing materials, siding, body panels, bumpers, frame and structural parts, delamination, bowed walls, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, furniture, upholstery, awning material and canvas, windows, screens, blinds and draperies
  • Water leaks other than plumbing, condensation, rust, corrosion and discoloration
  • Tires, wheels, wheel covers, brake pads and shoes, rotors and drums, shock absorbers, spark plugs, filters, belts, exhaust and emission components
  • Anything not installed by the factory, dealer or OEM, including aftermarket audio, navigation and security
  • Vehicles with a branded or salvaged title, or any previously declared a total loss or lemon
  • Any claim where the odometer has been altered, disconnected or left inoperable

The short version: this contract covers the things that break, not the things that wear, leak or look tired. We will walk the exclusions with you before you enroll.

Common questions

Is this insurance?

No. It is a vehicle service contract. The word warranty is used because that is what people call it, but it is not a manufacturer's warranty and it is not an insurance policy. It covers mechanical breakdown, and it never replaces your RV insurance.

Which level do I need?

If you drive it, Motorized Elite — it is the only one with the engine, transmission and drive axle. If you tow it, Coach Express covers the systems a travel trailer or fifth wheel actually has.

Does it cover the roof or water damage?

No, and this is the most common misunderstanding about RV service contracts. Roofing materials, siding, delamination, water leaks other than plumbing, and the structure generally are all excluded. Keeping the roof sealed is your obligation under the contract, not a covered repair.

What about the fridge, the furnace and the water heater?

Covered on both levels as appliances and as the LP and fresh-water systems, including the refrigerator, icemaker, microwave, range, water heater, furnace igniter and water pump. The annual servicing requirement on the furnace and water heater is what keeps those claims payable.

Is there a long-term contract?

No. Month to month, renewing automatically until you cancel, with at least 48 hours' notice before your next payment date.

Is there a cap on what it will pay?

Yes. Any single repair visit is capped at the RV's actual cash value, and everything paid across the contract is capped at actual cash value or $10,000, whichever is lower, in any 36-month period. Worth weighing against the cost of the systems on a larger coach.

Can I take it to any shop?

Yes, a franchised dealer or a licensed repair facility anywhere in the United States or Canada. Authorization has to come first, which matters more on an RV, where you are often a long way from home when something goes wrong.
